| 7 forum posts | Hi people, My names Adam and i started my apprenticeship last year as a maintenance engineer. Just before i started my grandfather unfortunately passed away and i receantly inherited some of his tool collection. He was a toolmaker for years and has left me quite alot of interesting stuff, most of which i intend to keep forever, but some i think i dont need and wont use so to raise funds for my driven liscence i intend to sell them. However some of it is unussual and ive never seen/used it before and either have the guys at my work so i was wondering if i could post any pics could some of use be kind enough to tell me what it is and how much it is worth? Cheers Adam |

| 7 forum posts 1 photos | Hi Adam when I started my apprenticeship I made a lot of tools as per the engineering training board drawings and because I was a machine tool fitter and thought I would not need them I gave a lot of them away. now some years later I wish I had kept them because I have a workshop of my own, so maybe think hard about the future before you part with your tools.

| 7 forum posts | Hi there, Cheers for the reply's. Ive thought long and hard about what i want to keep and what i want to sell. Im keeping all of the hand tools and hand measuring equipment such as micrometers but theres some professional stuff that ive never seen and doubt i'll ever need. In a worst case scenario if i sell anything that i later need i'll just replace it. The workshop i work in has 100% i'll ever need in that factory. What i'd like is a rough valuation and maybe a heads up of where best to advertise. First of all a Wohlhaupter boring head simular to this one on Ebay... Heres pictures of mines... 416 forum posts 36 photos | Hi Adam, remove the from the links and insert them as a link, they should work then. The Wolhaupter heads fetch quite a sum on ebay, Yours looks to be in very good condition and so should sell quite easily. The second item is a Co-Axial Centering gauge, they are available for around £50 from places such as **LINK** TBH, I would hang on the the Centering gauge as it won't fetch much second hand, the WolHaupter on the other hand could certainly pay for a few driving lessons. cheers CB |

645 forum posts 33 photos | The third item looks like part of an internal micrometre. If you can find the rest of it which are extension rods. The length of each rod was the fully extension of the mike body different from the next shorter or longer. In maintenance you might find it used 2 or 3 times a year. It is one of those things when you need it belive you me 'you need it' Bets Regards Dick |
