The Secret Island Royal Gunpowder Mills will be holding theri annual Steam Heritage Weekend on the 18/19 May this year. The organisers hope to build on the success of last year's event. A variety of scale model traction engines are expected to attend.

The Northern Mill Engine Society are once again opening thier doors for Bank Holiday Sunday/Monday Steaming Days. Come along and enjoy the atmosphere of this fine collection of working steam mill engines housed within a restored cotton store in North West Bolton.
Refreshments are available and there is plenty of free car parking.

Admission is free but a dontation to the running of the boiler on steaming days is always welcome.

A great family day out! The Whissendine Open Weekend takes place on the 1st and 2nd June.

Over 30 Miniature Traction Engines, Model aircraft, model engineering exhibition and train rides. There wil be a road run of traction engines parading into the village - with a gruellig up-hill return! - taking place on both days. The event is open 10.30am - 5pm

This event is organised by Melton Mowbray & District MES. Admission is FREE and there will be refreshments available throughout the day.

The West Huntspill Model Engineering Society have the pleasure of hosting, in association with MyTimeMedia Ltd, the LittleLec efficiency competition for small locomotives
The event will take place over the weekend of 22/23 June.

The Model Steam Road vehicle Society annual rally will take place on June 29th & 30th.

This rally is exactly the same as a full size t/e rally but with engines up to 6 inch scale only. There will be a model tent, trade stands, bar, catering and toilet facilities ect.
We are expecting up to 80 engines in steam and there will be the usual road runs and arena events throughout the weekend.
 
Once again this year we will be raising money for Sue Ryder Care in memory of one of our founder members.

This year's competition is to be hosted by Leyland Society of Model Engineers at their beautiful Worden Park on the outskirts of Leyland.

Birmingham SME are holding a special Quarry Hunslet Day on 14th July.
If you have, or are in the process of building a Quarry Hunslet, or just have an interest in these locomotives, Birmingham SME is the place to be on 14th July.

The railway can accommodate models in all scales from O Gauge up to 7 1/4in. Bring your own engine or just come along for the day. Refreshemnts will be available.

This will be our 21st annual model engineering exhibition and coincides with a regular 'steam up' of the museum's extensive collection of stationary steam engines. New exhibitors are welcome in all fields of engineering, covering both finished models and work in progress, simple or sophisticated, static or in action, historic or futuristic.
