The exhibition, which is the largest of its kind to be held in the region, is the only event in the area to cater for all kinds of models. Society members exhibiting completed models and work in progress will be among model makers from Falmouth to Dorchester who will be showing miniature steam engines, model railways, model engineering, aircraft, agricultural and transport, boats and automata. Military subjects include miniature figures, helicopters, armour and dioramas.
The venue is accessible by wheelchair and free parking will be available. Light refreshments will be available on both days.

Miniature steam road vehicles of all types (and associated equipment) welcome. Camping/caravanning space available (if pre-booked; early booking advisable.)
Over a quarter-mile of roadways available.
Coal and water available on site.
Road runs to Quainton Village on both days.
Barbecue Saturday evening.
Grand Parade and Concours Sunday afternoon.


Railway Centre shops, cafeteria and museum (now Fully Accredited) open both days.
Steam train rides available on both days.
VAMES Golding Spring Miniature Railway open on both days.

2016 marks the 70th Anniversary of the Taunton Model Engineers. To celebrate this event, the Club is holding a Miniature Steam Gala at its ground level track in Creech St. Michael on Saturday 23rd July 2016 from 10.00am – 4.00pm. (Post code TA3 5DW, signed from from nearby main roads.)

Visitors will have the opportunity to ride on a number of steam and diesel-hauled trains and see an extensive exhibition of members' work. There will also be traction engines running in the surrounding grounds, trade stands and demonstrations. Refreshments are available, and we welcome visiting 7¼ inch gauge locomotives and traction engines to take part in the event (with the usual boiler certificates).
